Aluminium, paint, timber, straps
Pariah, an outcast. The work questions our relationship to technological forms, structures and spaces in the familiar settings that we inhabit. Built from black painted aluminium and timber the sculpture evokes the languages of trusses, telecommunications towers and infrastructure. The black stained timber indicates a tarring or a saturation with oil, while the metal supports of technological frames. Held together through straps, they are ready for transport, a globalised network. The work references the uncanny and is suggestive of something other.
